The challenge of reaching youth and adults to help change attitudes and influence behavior about substance abuse is crucial. The Partnership for a Drug Free NH embraces this challenge through media exposure and education designed to empower youth and adults to communicate and make the right choices.
With the tremendous support our media and coalition partners provide we are making a difference. Studies have proven that media education campaigns are indeed effective in changing drug-related attitudes and behavior. In concert with a multi-dimensional approach we can create a healthy and viable society.
Since its inception, hundreds of messages have aired on local television and radio stations, or appeared in local newspapers. These messages represent over $1 million dollars in donated placement of public service announcements.
The Partnership Advisory Board includes representatives of NH-based media, advertising agencies, business and the public sector. The Partnership for a Drug Free New Hampshire is located under the Safety and Health Council of Northern New England.
Materials available to the public include:
- Pamphlets on drugs of use and abuse
- NH developed posters for youth
- "Growing Up Drug Free -- A Parent's Guide To Prevention"
