Consumer/Family Member Stories

 

Here are personal accounts by consumers and family members that focus on their experiences with mental illness and the public mental health system.  These people have faced many barriers to recovery, and have struggled with a wide variety of unforeseen challenges, but with awareness, acceptance, help and hope they have managed to overcome them.  They are sharing their stories to help others understand that with the right supports and services, recovery is more the rule than the exception.  To share your experiences with mental illness:
