Incentive Funds Program: Incentive Funds, a $2.9 million allocation from General Funds, are used to support a variety of community based programs and services in 2 broad categories: 1) prevention, family support and wellness, and 2) intervention and juvenile diversion programs. The funds are allocated quarterly to each of the 10 NH counties based on a distribution formula that focuses on juvenile population totals. These funds currently support 221 programs that serve approximately 70,519 children and their families annually.
Child Abuse Prevention Grant Activities: The Division funds several community based prevention programs specifically targeted at providing services to high-risk families. Services are also provided to infants and other medically fragile children with the goal of preventing medical neglect and other disabling conditions.
Family Support: The Division for Children, Youth and Families (DCYF) contracts for a variety of family support services to provide a comprehensive system to provide intervention before the occurrence of familial and parental abuse or neglect on behalf of at-risk families and of families in the process of reunification. DCYF contracts with 8 agencies for 12 regions throughout NH. Currently, family support services are provided to approximately 700 families annually. Services are provided to promote a child's healthy growth and development by identifying and addressing home and community barriers to success in school and in the larger society.
