4.          What can the Bureau of Elderly & Adult Services assist me or someone else with? Who can they help?

The BEAS provides social and long-term supports to adults age 60 and older and to adults between the ages of 18 and 60 who have a chronic illness or disability.  These services include home care, meals on wheels, care management, transportation assistance, assisted living, nursing home care, legal support services, advocacy for disabled adults, information and assistance regarding Medicare, and information about volunteer opportunities.  All services and supports are intended to assist people to live as independently as possible in safety and with dignity. BEAS staff are located at twelve DHHS District Offices throughout NH and coordinate services to seniors and adults with disabilities and chronic illnesses who meet certain eligibility criteria.  BEAS also has a main office, located in Concord (in addition to the District Office in Concord), responsible for administrative support and general program and financial planning.

6.          How do I apply for the Long Term Care program?

Applying for the program begins at a ServiceLink and is a two-step process that includes a Medical eligibility determination by BEAS and a Financial Eligibility process by the Division of Family Assistance (DFA)

 

7.          How do I check on the status of my Long Term Care application?

8.          If I am a Medicaid recipient, whom do I call with questions?

To view a list of all BEAS employees, under the “View State Employee Listings By Department”, there is a selection for “HHS: Elderly & Adult Services”, that list names, title, phone, and email

 

10.     How do I file a civil rights complaint with DHHS?

1.          How can Caregivers get assistance?

2.          Can Caregivers check the state registry when hiring a private pay worker?

Yes, any individual hiring a caregiver directly, or through an authorized representative or fiscal intermediary, to provide personal care services, may submit the prospective employee’s name for review against the registry.  Contact the BEAS State Registry or if you have further questions, call 1-800-852-3345, extension 8154 or 1-603-271-8154
