Opportunities to Participate in Child Care Initiatives

Seeking committed individuals to help improve child care services

 

The New Hampshire Child Care Advisory Council is a legislatively enacted statewide forum which responds to child care issues and facilitates resources and information on early child care and education in New Hampshire.


Purpose of the NH Child Care Advisory Council

  • To further the developments of quality affordable child care.
  • To provide a forum for groups concerned with child care and related services.
  • To advise the Commissioner of the Department of Health and Human Services on policies and legislation regarding child care.
  • To communicate with the Governor and the Commissioner of the Department of Education on Early Childhood initiatives and needs.
  • To advise the Child Development Bureau on priorities and budget planning.

 

Meetings are open and the public is welcome to attend.


Meetings are held the 3rd Friday of every month (excluding August)

The NH Child Care Advisory Council invites you to join our efforts to improve child care services in New Hampshire. Volunteers are welcome in a variety of capacities – whether you want to support a special interest, would like to work at home on a project, or are willing to commit to longer term initiatives by serving on a standing committee. In order to implement the Council's Five Year Plan, applications are being accepted for volunteers for special projects and for membership on three of the standing committees. Attendance at meetings is not required. The Executive Summary of the Council's Five Year Plan highlights our current initiatives.


Standing Committees


Legislative – support, help shape, and champion legislation on behalf of children and families
Policy and Planning – monitor the implementation of the Five Year Plan, serve on appropriate study committees, work with Child Development Bureau administrator on process to develop and support the Bureau's Child Care Plan
Public Engagement – serve as the liaison between the Council and the Commissioners of Department of Health and Human Services, Department of Education, and the Governor, update and enhance CCAC presence on the internet, communicate with constituencies.


Standing Committees meet every month at 8:30 am prior the regularly scheduled Council meeting. Distance committee work will also be conducted through email, phone and other meetings as necessary.
