Public health disease surveillance is the ongoing and systematic collection, analysis and interpretation of data on diseases and/or conditions among persons and/or populations. These reports summarize recent and cumulative trends in the epidemiology of STD/HIV/AIDS disease among NH residents. These data are useful for health care providers, planning agencies and the general public to assist with identifying persons at risk and understanding the trends of the disease. Surveillance data are critical to prevention planning and allocating appropriate resources to populations at risk.
