Eligibility Requirements for

the Breast and Cervical Cancer Program

 

  The Let No Woman Be Overlooked Breast and Cervical Cancer Program is a program to provide free breast and cervical cancer screenings to women who meet certain requirements. There are several breast and cervical cancer health care screening sites including NH hospitals and physician offices.

 

 

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR FREE SCREENINGS

 

All women ages 18 to 64 must:

  • Be without health insurance or have insurance coverage that does not pay for screening tests, and
  • Have income <250% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines.

 

 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS BY SPECIFIC SERVICE and AGE

 

Women under age 40 are eligible for:

  • a clinical breast exam, pelvic exam and Pap smear, and
  • a mammogram when a breast lump is found during a clinical breast exam or a breast self exam.

 

Women ages 40 to 64 are eligible for:

  • a clinical breast exam, pelvic exam, Pap smear and mammogram.

 

Women age 65+ are eligible for:

  • a clinical breast exam, pelvic exam, Pap smear and mammogram when not eligible for the Medicare program or not enrolled in Medicare Part B.

Breast Cancer

Screening Guidelines

 

Women age 40+:

  • Mammogram every

1-2 years

  • Breast check @annual health care visit

Women ages 18-39:

  • Breast check @annual health care visit
  • Medical assessment to determine mammogram need <age 40

Cervical Cancer

Screening Guidelines

 

Women age 18+:

  • Pap smear annually (with 3 negative tests, MD may recommend alternative schedule)

Women <age 18:

  • Annual Pap smear if sexually active
