Lead Clearance Testing Technicians conduct examinations for visible dust and debris and take dust samples before, during and after renovation activities, interim controls, and on-going home maintenance. They can interpret the findings and issue lead clearance reports, but can not determine where the dust may have come from nor determine lead hazards that may be present in the home. They may not conduct testing following their own maintenance and lead-hazard reduction activities and can not issue Certificates of Compliance for interim controls or abatement.
