Commission on Alcohol & Drug Abuse Prevention




Commission Membership
 

The Commission consists of:

  • Six public members appointed by the Governor and Council, two of whom must be professionals knowledgeable about alcohol and drug abuse prevention; two of whom must be professionals knowledgeable about alcohol and drug abuse treatment; and two of whom must be public members who are not professionals within the alcohol and drug addiction prevention and treatment system. Each public member serves for three years.
  • Two members of the House of Representatives, appointed by the Speaker of the House and two members from the Senate, appointed by the President of the Senate. Legislative members serve as long as they are a member of the General Court.
  • Attorney General
  • Adjutant General
  • Administrative Judge of the District Courts
  • Chairperson of the Liquor Commission
  • Commissioner of the Department of Health and Human Services
  • Director of Juvenile Justice Services
  • Commissioner of the Department of Education
  • Commissioner of the Department of Corrections
  • Commissioner of the Department of Safety; and
  • Director of the Office of Alcohol and Drug Policy.


These members serve as long as they are in office.
