Safety Officials are Concerned about the Possibility of Flooding

Because of heavy snowfall this winter and recent rain State officials are concerned about the potential for flooding.  Be aware of what steps you can take to protect yourself, your family and your home.

  • Have an emergency plan that includes evacuation.  For tips on how to prepare for an emergency, check out the State Preparedness Brochure.
  • Have a stockpile of food and other supplies in case you need to stay in your home for an extended period of time.
  • Monitor weather reports for your local community.
  • Consider getting flood insurance if you don't already have it.
