The Consumer Protection Bureau is part of the Attorney General's Office, Department of Justice.  You can reach the Bureau at (603) 271-3641 or through the  Consumer Protection & Antitrust Bureau website.
 
2.  Who regulates the licensing of restaurants and responds to food poisoning complaints?Back to top
The DHHS Food Protection Program licenses restaurants and investigates food poisoning complaints.  Potential restaurant food poisoning investigations are carried out in collaboration with the DHHS Public Health Laboratories and Communicable Disease Control & Surveillance.
 
3.  Which office licenses tattoo and body piercing parlors and can answer my questions if I think I'm having a bad reaction to a tattoo?Back to top
The DHHS Bureau of Health Facilities Administration (BHFA) licenses providers of tattoos and body piercing.  If you are concerned about a reaction to a tattoo or body piercing, your should first contact a health care provider to have the tattoo or piercing evaluated for infection or other complications.  You can also contact the BHFA if you or your health care provider think the reaction is associated with the business that provided the tattoo or piercing.

Public Health Nurses in Communicable Disease Control & Surveillance accept reports of infectious or communicable diseases.  They also provide educational information and answer questions about communicable diseases.
