November is National Adoption Month

 

In the United States there are more than 100,000 children in foster care waiting to find permanent, loving families. November is National Adoption Month and focuses on raising public awareness about these waiting children. 

 

New Hampshire celebrates National Adoption Month with several events and activities. 

 

  • Saturday, November 7, 2009 – Annual New Hampshire Foster and Adoptive Parent Conference at the Marriott in Concord, NH.
  • Saturday, November 14, 2009 - 9th annual Family Fun Night for all adoptive families at the Manchester YMCA, hosted by Casey Family Services and the Division for Children, Youth and Families (DCYF) (Call 1-800-417-7375 for more information). 
  • Thursday, November 19, 2009 - Annual National Adoption Month Celebration at the McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center hosted by DCYF.
  • On November 30, 2009 - "Discover Foster Care and Adoption" event at Manchester Christian Church, sponsored by DCYF and the Community and Faith Based Initiative of NH.
