Requirements to Obtain a License for Mobile Food Units

 

A mobile food unit is defined as a food service establishment mounted on wheels or otherwise designed to be immediately moveable.  To operate a mobile food service establishment in NH, a license is required.  All applicants for a mobile food service license shall submit to the Bureau of Food Protection:

 

  • A completed, legible Annual Food Service License Application.  
  • A check or money order for the applicable fees. All fees are nontransferable and nonrefundable. 
  • If the application is for a mobile food unit that uses a commissary, the identification of the commissary and a copy of the commissary license must be submitted with the application.
  • A list of all vehicles used as mobile food units or to sell retail food and related vehicle information.
  • All other information that maybe specific to the mobile food service operation.

 

It is unlawful for any person, unless exempted under NH Administrative Rules, to operate a food service establishment or retail food establishment within the state without having obtained a food service license.   If the Food Protection Program is satisfied that the information regarding the applicant, the applicant's operation, and facilities are in compliance with NH Administrative Rules for the sanitary production and distribution of food, a license shall be issued.
