Protected Health Information to DHHS by Covered Entities 

 

The HIPAA Privacy Rule provides for certain privacy rights for subjects of protected health information.  However, those rights have limitations.  For example, the HIPAA Privacy Rule protects health information that may be used and disclosed without authorization to the extent a law requires the production of that informationSome of the DHHS activities that fall under this provision are discussed below.
