MISSION STATEMENT

• To encourage public participation and understanding of the certificate of need process;

• To make a positive contribution toward the effort to control health care capital expenditures and the management of increases in health care capital costs;

• To promote the delivery of essential health care services to the citizens of NH by establishing standards to improve the quality, cost effectiveness of and access to health care; and 

• To cultivate knowledge and understanding of health care delivery systems by engaging in planning efforts and data collection.

• Promote and stimulate, where appropriate, collaboration and competition among providers in the health care marketplace.

• Collaborate with NH state agencies charged with establishing healthcare policy.

• Focus on reviewing standards of need for the NH health care delivery system that avoid unnecessary duplication, contain or reduce increases in the cost of delivering services and promote the rational allocation of health care resources in NH.

• Utilize objective staff reports from informed sources in response to health care providers' projects and requests.

• Respond to changing consumer and health care provider needs, focusing on emerging technology.
