Welcome to Juvenile Justice Community Programs

The Juvenile Justice Community Program unit is responsible for all community based services, residential and non-residential, that conduct business with the Division for Juvenile Justice Services.

  • Residential community based services include intensive and intermediate service level group homes, general group homes and shelter care.  The Juvenile Justice Community Program unit is responsible for the certification of all community based residential programs used by DJJS.

  • Non-residential community based services include youth tracking services, in-home counseling, traditional counseling, transportation and the Juvenile Offender Locator Team (JOLT).

The majority of funding for programs and services administered by the Community Programs unit comes from four sources: Formula Grants; Title V Incentive Grants for Local Delinquency Prevention Programs; State Challenge Activities; and Juvenile Accountability Incentive Block Grants (JAIBG).  Funds are made available to community providers through competitive bid processes that outline specific program criteria.
