Initial License Requirements:

• Submit an acupuncture application for license & pay the required license fee;
• Be of good moral character;
• Be at least 21 years old;
• Have current, active National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental  Medicine (NCCAOM) certification through examination or Credentials Documentation Review;
• Proof of completion of a NCCAOM approved Clean Needle Technique course;
• Hold a baccalaureate, Registered Nurse (RN), or Physician Assistant (PA) degree from an accredited institution or meet the waiver requirements;
• Must have completed a post-secondary acupuncture college program which was Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM) approved or in candidacy on the date the applicant graduated, or meet the waiver requirements.

Renewal License Requirements:

• Submit an acupuncture renewal application and pay the required license fee; and
• Documentation of having completed 30 hours of continuing education every two years.
