LRS issues licenses trough its Bureaus or Administrative Boards for child care providers and child care centers, health facilities, tattoo establishments, and massage therapists.  Specific licensing information is available from the individual licensing units: Bureau of Child Care Licensing, Bureau of Health Facilities Administration, and various Administrative Boards.

 
2.  How do I obtain a Certificate of Free Sale?Back to top
A written request for a Certificate of Free Sale needs to be sent to the Office of Program Support accompanied by a Certificate of Good Standing available from the NH Secretary of State at 603-271-3244.  You must also provide the dates that food was first sold. 
 
3.  I graduated from a massage therapy school in another state.  Will my education from this school meet the educational requirements to receive a license in NH?Back to top
If you attended a massage therapy school in another state, you are required to have a  NH massage therapy school review your transcripts and provide written verification that you have met the educational requirements for NH.
 
4.  I graduated from a massage therapy school and would like to practice massage therapy prior to taking the required written and/or practical examinations.  Is there a temporary license that will allow me to do that?Back to top
There are no provisions for a temporary license.  You are not permitted to perform massage therapy for compensation until you have met all eligibility requirements, passed the examinations and received a license to practice massage therapy.
 
5.  How long is my massage therapy license effective before I must renew it?Back to top
Massage therapy licenses are effective for two years from the date of issuance.
 
6.  How many continuing education hours are required to renew my massage therapy license? Back to top
You are required to obtain 12 continuing education course hours that meet the requirements of the massage therapy NH Administrative Rules.  The 12 hours must be obtained during your current licensing period. 
 
7.  What happens if I submit my renewal application after the expiration date of my massage therapy license?Back to top

Once your license expires, you must apply for a new license and meet the requirements for initial licensing.  If your license expired within the last twelve months, your scores from the national and practical examinations will be accepted but must be resubmitted with the application.

 
8.  How long is my electrologist license valid?Back to top
All licenses expire June 30.  Accordingly, an initial license can be effective from 1 ½ years to 2 ½ years depending on when the application is submitted.  Renewal licenses are issued for a period of two years.
 
9.  How many continuing education hours are required to renew my electrology license? Back to top
You must complete 10 hours of continuing education through courses that meet the requirements of NH Administrative Rules for electrologist licenses.  The 10 hours must be completed during your current license period. 
 
10.  How long is my ophthalmic dispenser registration valid?Back to top
All registrations expire December 31.  Accordingly, an initial registration is effective from 1½ years to 2½ years depending on when an application is submitted.  Renewal registrations are issued for two year periods.
 
11.  How many continuing education hours are required to renew my ophthalmic dispenser registration? Back to top
You must complete 8 hours of continuing education through courses that meet the requirements of the NH Administrative Rules for ophthalmic dispensers.  The 8 hours must be completed during your current registration period. 
 
12.  How often does the Board of Naturopathic Examiners meet?Back to top

The Board usually meets four times per year.  Additional meetings are scheduled as needed. 

 
13.  Are naturopathic correspondence schools acceptable for licensure?Back to top

No.  Applicants for licensure must have attended a residential naturopathic school approved by the Board of Naturopathic Examiners. 

 
14.  Can I practice acupuncture under a Chiropractor's license or a Medical Doctor's license without holding an acupuncture license?Back to top
You must hold either an acupuncture license or be a licensed as a naturopathic doctor with an acupuncture specialty certification.
