An introduction from Commissioner Stephen:
The Abstinence Task Force Report (29 pages)contains recommendations to develop effective abstinence programs statewide. I commend the hard work of the volunteer members of the Task Force as well as our DHHS employees in producing this work. Please know that this report represents considerable efforts of many people committed to improving the lives of the youth of the state.
Because this plan requires community involvement, I feel the public must have an opportunity to comment on this report and its comments before it becomes the Department's final recommendation. Please feel free to add your thoughts to the debate. The more viewpoints we can hear, the better the final product will be.
I look forward to implementing a plan to teach our children the importance of practicing abstinence. Children who do so lead healthier, more fulfilling lives. The Department is grateful for the work in making the final plan a productive, usable strategy to promote abstinence in our youth.
Sexuality & NH Teens (15 pages) provides current data used to develop the report.
