The Primary Care and Maternal & Child Health Services - 1996-2002 report (24 pages) focuses on the services provided by the Division of Public Heatlh Services through a statewide network of community-based, non-profit, safety-net agencies. These services target underserved people who face barriers to accessing health care, such as lack of insurance, inability to pay, geographic isolation, and cultural and language issues. It is based on information from agencies that report to the Maternal and Child Health Section via the Uniform Data System. While previous analyses of data collected from these agencies have been used for internal planning purposes, and for providing feedback to the agencies, this report represents the first time that the data has been compiled for public use.
