The information below provides an overview of eligibility requirements for Medicaid and Healthy Kids programs that provide medical and dental coverage for children under the age of 19.  For more details contact a DHHS District Office or NH Healthy Kids at 1-877-464-2447.

Healthy Kids Gold (HKG): for children up to age 19 with income no higher than 185% of the federal poverty income limits or, if the child is younger than 1 year and has no other health insurance coverage, income can be no higher than 300% of the federal poverty income limits. No premium.

HKG Children with Severe Disabilities (HKG-CSD): special coverage for disabled children under 18 or under 19 if attending high school or its equivalency full-time. The disabled child does not have to be living with a parent or relative to receive this coverage.  No premium.

HKG Home Care for Children with Severe Disabilities (HKG-HCCSD):  for severely disabled children up to age 19 whose medical disability is so severe that they qualify for institutional care but who are being cared for at home.  Only the income and resources of the disabled child are counted towards eligibility for this program.  Commonly known as the "Katie Beckett" option.  No premium.

Healthy Kids Silver (HKS): for children up to age 19 who have no other health insurance coverage and whose income is no higher than 400% of the federal poverty income limits.  Premium based.
