NOTE: Because the recipes in this cookbook do not meet the Fruits & Veggies-More Matters® recipe criteria, the cookbook will be removed from this website by January 1, 2009. An updated version of the cookbook is in development.

 

A collection of 40 tasty fruit and vegetable based recipes (25 to 100 servings) that can be used in:

 

  • School Lunch Programs            
  • Head Start Programs
  • Camps
  • Congregate Meal Sites
  • College Food Service
  • Cafeterias
  • Restaurants

 

All the recipes conform to the USDA recipe format and also meet the 5 A Day recipe criteria. That means they are low in:

 

  • Total fat
  • Saturated fat
  • Cholesterol
  • Sodium

 

Appendices include:

  • Original family-size recipes
  • Survey forms
  • Background information about the National School Lunch Program, the 5 A Day Program and food safety.
