The New Hampshire Farmers' Market Nutrition Program promotes eating more fresh fruits and vegetables. The Fruit & Vegetable Program encourages the public to eat well balanced meals that include fresh fruits and vegetables for better health . Including fruits and vegetables in a daily diet can improve health and reduce the risk of cancer and other diseases, including heart disease, hypertension and diabetes.
The Farmers' Market Nutrition Program also supports local farmers and locally grown produce by working with New Hampshire farmers to develop new farmers' markets and/or expand existing markets.
