Welcome to the Fruit and Vegetable Program!

The Fruit and Vegetable Program (formerly the 5 A Day for Better Health Program) promotes a simple, positive message – eat more fruits and veggies at every meal and snack. The program is part of a nationwide nutrition education campaign to provide educational ideas and materials to schools, communities and worksites.

Fruits and vegetables are key to good health. Eating a lot of fruits and veggies at every eating occasion helps you get the fiber, minerals, vitamins, and phytochemicals (fight-o-chemicals) you need to stay healthy. To learn more about  the benefits of eating lots of fruits and veggies, see Fruit and Veggie Basics.
