Welcome to Office of Homeless, Housing & Transportation Services
 

Homeless and Housing Services supports a statewide housing system that serves as a safety net for homeless persons and to promote statewide access to affordable housing.  Homeless and Housing Services also provides leadership, resources and coordination among a large group of homeless service providers.

 

Homeless & Housing Services administers funds received from the NH general fund (for emergency shelters and the Housing Guarantee and Rental Guarantee Programs); from the US DHHS Center for Mental Health Services (for "Projects for Assistance in Transition from Homelessness" that provide outreach to homeless persons who suffer from mental illness); and from US Housing and Urban Development (HUD) (for emergency shelters, Homeless Outreach, Supportive Housing, and Housing Opportunities for Persons with Human Immunodeficiency Virus {HIV}/Auto Immune Deficiency Syndrome {AIDS}.

 

 


Children

Effective May 1st- October 31st, the NH Homeless Hotline (1-800-852-3388) will be available the hours of 8:00 am-8:00 pm, Monday-Friday. If an individual or family is experiencing an emergency related to their housing, or are in need of emergency housing outside these hours or on weekends, they should contact their local police department.
