The Become an Advocate for Elders Who Live in Long-Term Care Facilities brochure and application (4 pages) describes the role, qualifications, training requirements and time commitment of a Long-Term Care Ombudsman Volunteer. The staff and volunteers of the NH Long-Term Care Ombudsman unit advocate for residents of nursing homes and residential care facilities.  In addition to learning about long-term care, aging, and advocacy issues, volunteer advocates help ensure quality of life and care and help protect the rights of residents.
