1.  What is required to obtain a shellfish certificate in NH?Back to top

You must complete shellfish application and pay appropriate fee(s). If you have a private water system,  a water test result within the last three months is required, and a completed Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) plan to be submitted with the application.  The Food Protection Program will conduct an inspection when required documentation is received and reviewed.

 
2.  How long is my shellfish certificate valid?Back to top
All shellfish certificates are issued with an expiration date of January 1with a duration of one year.  A shellfish certificate must be renewed prior to the expiration date of the certificate.  If you have a private water system you must submit a water test result taken within the last three months with the request for certificate renewal.

HACCP stands for Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point.  HACCP is a systematic, science-based approach used in food production as a means to ensure food safety.
