109.15 Concurrent Receipt of Financial Assistance (AAM)

No individual may receive financial assistance from more than one political subdivision (city, town, county, or state) at the same time.

Exception: Recipients of APTD or OAA financial assistance can simultaneously receive local welfare. The local welfare (also called direct relief) is considered excluded income.

 

• Notify the local unit (city, town, or county) when an individual is currently receiving general assistance from the local unit and the individual is accepted for financial assistance from a program administered by DFA. *Send a memo or verbally notify the local unit for ANB. Do not disclose the amount of assistance or any other case information.

• No individual may receive financial assistance under more than one program of assistance administered by DFA at the same time.

- Individuals receiving adult category financial assistance who subsequently become eligible for financial assistance under FANF may not receive FANF financial assistance for any months in which adult category financial assistance has already been received, even if the recipient voluntarily repays the Department for past financial assistance received under the adult category.

- Notify adult category financial assistance recipients applying for financial assistance under FANF of this restriction at the time of the FANF application.
