The Bureau of Homeless & Housing Services (BHHS) works with NH communities to develop programs and services for NH's homeless populations. These services are offered at the local level though community partners and services providers.

homelessBHHS plans for and funds homeless services through contracted agencies within New Hampshire's ten counties. BHHS advocates for the needs of homeless people and ensures effective use of resources through program and fiscal monitoring of funded programs. BHHS collaborates with other public agencies that serve homeless people, and with partner advocacy and service organizations to maximize effective use of resources.

Support Networks

Data & Research

To better understand the causes of homelessness and to ensure support networks are available for individual and families within their communities. Community agencies such as local police departments, town & city welfare offices, schools, hospitals, churches and other providers help BHHS in collect data based on observation and outreach to NH's homeless populations.

Volunteers

NH network of Homeless shelters depend on the generosity of NH citizens though their volunteer efforts. To find out more about volunteer opportunities in your community contact your local Community Action Program (CAP).

Donate to your local food bank or contact your local Community Action Agencies, the New Hampshire Coalition to End Homelessness (NHCEH), or non-profit in your area.
