Child OutsideEastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE) and West Nile Virus (WNV) is spread to humans by the bite of an infected mosquito. When a mosquito bites an infected bird, the mosquito becomes infected. The infected mosquito could then transmit the infection to a human that it bites. Mosquitoes are most active from June to October.
