Breast & Cervical Cancer Program
This mission is carried out statewide through a comprehensive program which addresses:
- screening,
- public education,
- coalition building,
- quality assurance,
- case management;
- professional education.
The Let No Woman Be Overlooked program provides free breast and cervical cancer screenings to women age 18-64 who have no health insurance or have insurance that does not pay for screening tests and with family incomes at or below 250% of the Federal Poverty Level. Income guidelines are updated each year in February. The screenings are offered at many health care sites including NH hospitals and physician offices.
The program offers eligible participants access to the following services:
- Women's Health Exam
- Mammography
- Pap Test
- Pelvic Exam
Cervical cancer screening is mainly for women who have never had a Pap test or have not had one in over 5 years. Mammography screening is mainly for women age 50-64.

Breast Cancer Screening Guidelines
Women age 40+ years and older:
- Mammogram every 1-2 years
- Breast check at annual health care visit
Women ages 18-39:
- Breast check at annual health care visit
- Medical assessment to determine mammogram if younger than age 40
Cervical Cancer Screening Guidelines
Women age 18 + years and older:
- Pap test every 1-2 years; if 3 normal test results in a row, health care provider may recommend an alternate schedule.
