307.01 Eligibility Within Institutions (FAM)

Individuals residing in institutions are not eligible for FANF assistance.

 

Exception: Institutionalization does not automatically make a dependent child, ineligible for benefits. Policy regarding temporary absence from the home applies. See Section 207.05, Living with a Specified Relative.

 

The following individuals may be eligible for FANF assistance, if all other eligibility requirements are met:

·         Clients of public institutions who physically reside outside the institution, even if under the general supervision of the institution;

·         Individuals admitted to the New Hampshire Hospital including the Anna Philbrook Center, for purposes of evaluation only, for a period not to exceed 3 months;

·         Individuals under 22 years old or age 65 or older and hospitalized at a Designated Receiving Facility. Eligibility is determined differently depending on the actual or anticipated length of hospitalization. See Section 307.03, Individuals in Designated Receiving Facilities;

·         Patients at the psychiatric unit of the Dartmouth - Hitchcock Medical Center;

·         Children in licensed foster homes, group homes, nonprofit child care institutions, or public child care institutions with less than 25 children; and

·         Children participating in the special education program at the Sununu Youth Services Center.
