Caretaker Relative — a specified relative who is not the biological, step, or adoptive parent, but is providing care for the children in the assistance group.

Case Income — the combined countable earned and unearned income of all assistance group members.

Cash Account — the EBT account established by the Department into which funds are deposted for the purpose of providing assistance payments to individuals eligible for any of the Departments financial assistance programs.

Cash Surrender Value — the amount of money which the owner of a life insurance policy would receive if the policy were cashed in.

Child Care Cost — the cost of care for a childs needs, supervision, food, activity, and rest in order to allow the parent(s) to prepare for, secure, or maintain employment or employment related training.

Child Support — payments for the maintenance and care made to and on behalf of a child.

Client Error — a misunderstanding which results in the individual receiving an incorrect benefit amount or level of assistance.

COLA — the cost-of-living adjustment to an income.

Contract Agency — a licensed, nonprofit facility that has entered into a written agreement with the Division to provide child care services.

Corrective Payment — the payment of money to an individual who has received less than they were entitled to receive as determined by the Division, including decisions made by the Department Fair Hearings Officer.

Countable Income — available income minus excluded income and adjustments for determining the gross amount of income.

Countable Resources — real or personal property which is considered in determining eligibility.

Current Change — a change that has already occurred.
