123 BENEFIT DELIVERY TIME FRAMES (FSM)

SR 98-51 Dated 12/98

Previous Policy

_____________________________________________________________

Food Stamp benefits must be issued as soon as possible, but must be credited to the EBT Food Stamp account and available for client use no later than the 30th calendar day after the application date.

Exceptions:

• Expedited service cases have a faster benefit delivery time frame. See Part 125, Expedited Service.

• Individuals moving into New Hampshire cannot receive benefits for the month of application if they have already received Food Stamp benefits for that month from their previous state.

• If the individual was a member of another participating household in the month of application and is now applying on behalf of a different household, the first possible month of eligibility is the month after the application was filed, unless the individual is now residing in a shelter for battered spouses.

• If only part of a new household participated in the month of application, process the rest of the household as a new case. Add the individuals who were part of another household to the new household in the month after they are deleted from their previous case.
