Notify individuals in advance of termination of assistance, a decrease in the level of eligibility, or a decrease in the benefit amount. The time frame between the date the Notice of Decision (NOD) is generated and the date the action actually takes effect is called the advance notice period (ANP).

Exception: An advance notice period applies when positive and negative changes occur at the same time and result in a negative action .

The standard ANP is 10 calendar days. Under some circumstances the ANP is not required * or is increased to 30 days.

Terminations and decreases are effective for the first major run after the ANP expires.
