161.07 Termination at Recertification (FSM)

SNAP benefits terminate automatically at the end of the current certification period if the individual has not:

• completed an application;

• participated in an interview, if required; and

• provided all required verification prior to the expiration of the current certification period.

 

Deny the application within 30 days of receiving it if the individual has submitted a completed application and fails to:

• attend the interview appointment; or

• provide all required verification prior to the expiration of the current certification period.

Deny the application for recertification when the individual fails or refuses to appear for a recertification interview without good cause and:

• fails to contact the Department for a second appointment; or

• requests another appointment but fails to appear for the rescheduled appointment.

 

Close or deny households that fail or refuse to cooperate in providing verification and do not contact the Department for assistance.
