227 STRIKERS (FSM)

SR 94-04 Dated 04/94

Previous Policy

____________________________________________________________

A striker is anyone involved in a strike or concerted work stoppage by employees (including a stoppage due to the expiration of a collective bargaining agreement), and any concerted slowdown or other concerted interruption of operations by employees.

Striker status ends only when the individual returns to the job, retires, quits, is locked out, or is fired, regardless of the length of the strike.

Exception: Striking federal, state, or local government employees who are dismissed because of participating in the strike are considered to have voluntarily quit without good cause.
