235.03 Responsibilities of the Group Living Arrangement (FSM)

A group living arrangement (GLA) acting as an authorized representative (AR) must do all of the following:

·       apply on behalf of the resident;

·       buy and prepare food to be consumed by eligible residents communally or individually, or provide SNAP benefits to the resident to purchase food for their own consumption;

·       ensure that each residents SNAP benefits are used for meals intended for that resident; and

·       notify DHHS of changes in any households income or of other changes affecting eligibility.

 

The GLA is also responsible for all of the following:

·        any program violation which it knowingly commits to obtain SNAP benefits for its residents;

·        all losses or misuse of SNAP benefits held on behalf of residents, and for all over-issuances which occur while the individuals are residents of the facility;

·        providing a monthly list of participating residents and a statement signed by a responsible official of the facility attesting to the accuracy of the list; and

·       notifying DHHS within 10 calendar days if a participating resident dies or leaves the facility.
