315.13 Verification of Voluntary Quit (FSM)

Verify a voluntary quit using contacts who may be reasonably expected to be familiar with the voluntary quit, such as employers, employee associations, and union representatives. If attempts to obtain verification fail, the household must not be denied access to SNAP benefits. Document in the case file the reason verification could not be obtained.

 

Expedited SNAP cases: Do not delay certification when verification cannot be obtained within required time frames. If it is determined after expedited benefits have been authorized that an individual voluntarily quit a job without good cause, that individual is disqualified for the appropriate minimum mandatory disqualification period.
