EARNINGS OF CHILDREN (FSM)

Earned income received by any dependent child age 17 and under who is included in an assistance group. See FSM 211, COMPOSITION OF ASSISTANCE GROUPS, and FSM 239, STUDENTS.

Treatment: Excluded Income only if the child is a full-time student and living with a natural, adoptive, or step-parent or under the parental control of a household member other than a parent.

Exceptions:

• Count earned income received by heads of household age 16 and 17; and

• Once an elementary or high school student turns 18 years old, their earnings are counted unless otherwise excluded by policy.
