HOME-PRODUCED FOOD (FSM)

The value of home-produced foods such as dairy, meat or poultry products, and garden vegetables.

Treatment: Excluded Income, if intended solely for the use of the individual and their household.

Treatment: Earned Income, if the foods are sold on a commercial basis.

Income from home-produced food sold on a commercial basis is considered self-employment income and can be reduced by the cost of doing business. See Self-Employment.
