710.02 Expungement of EBT Benefits from Deceased Households (FSM)

SR 21-12 Dated 09/21

Previous Policy

_____________________________________________________________

In instances when a verified death match for all certified members of the household results in closure of the SNAP case, the remaining SNAP balance in the household's EBT account at that time must be expunged. Notices are not required for these households.

The expungement of SNAP benefits is a manual process completed by the EBT  Administrator. Once it is verified that all household members in a case are deceased and the case has been closed, the FSS will email the EBT Program Specialist IV and courtesy copy the EBT Administrator to begin the expungement process.
