133.06 Households With Able Bodied Adults Without Dependents (ABAWD) SR 00-19, 06/00 (FSM-A)

Assign a certification period of no longer than 4 months for households containing an ABAWD member or members.

Exceptions:

• If an application is initiated on the 1st calendar day of the month, assign a certification period of 3 months, counting the application month as month 1. In accordance with FSM 245, nonexempt ABAWD’s are limited to 3 full months of participation in a 36 month period while not complying with ABAWD work requirements. Partial months of participation do not count toward the 3 month limit.

• If an nonexempt ABAWD individual has received 1 or more full month’s of food stamp benefits while not meeting ABAWD work requirements, assign an appropriate certification period so that the individual does not receive more than 3 full months of participation in a 36 month period.
