819.01 Support Services for the Food Stamp Employment & Training (FSET) Job Search Program SR 16-04 Dated 01/16  (FSM-A)

Individuals participating in the Food Stamp Employment & Training (FSET) job search program may receive reimbursements for support services according to the following criteria:

• Child care reimbursement is allowed through the DHHS Child Development Bureau for up to 40 days in any 6 month period if funding permits. Reimbursed child care costs may not also be used for a child care deduction; and

• Transportation reimbursement is available at a rate *$0.30 per mile for private or commercial transportation.

A maximum of *$100 per month* is allowed for mileage reimbursement that is directly related to participation in job search, as long as the following criteria are met:

• the documented costs of mileage is for the sole purpose of searching for employment;

• job search documentation includes the date the mileage costs were incurred, the employer’s name, address, phone number, and the name of the person contacted during the job search activity, the position or type of work that was associated with the job search activity, the specific actions taken during the job search activity, the miles traveled, the participant’s printed name and dated signature certifying that the job search documentation provided is true and accurate, and the participant’s case number; and

• documentation is submitted no later then 90 days from the date of travel.

To remain eligible for mileage reimbursement, FSET participants who have received mileage reimbursement for 12 or more months over the participant’s lifetime receipt of Food Stamp benefits must:

• participate in a reassessment every 6 months to determine the FSET participant’s abilities, skills, and barriers to employment while continuing to search for employment; and

• provide monthly verification of utilization of NH works offices to aid in job search efforts.

Allow 8 business days for the reimbursement check to arrive at the individual’s residence before instituting a query or stop payment process.
