223 CHILDREN'S MEDICAID AND EXPANDED CHILDREN'S MEDICAID (MAM)

Children's Medicaid (CM) and Expanded Children's Medicaid are both Medicaid eligibility categories that use Modified Adjusted Gross Income (MAGI) in the eligibility determination process.

 

For eligible children, provide CM and Expanded CM through the day of the month before the day the child turns 19 years of age.

 

To be eligible for CM or Expanded CM, a child must be a:

       U.S. citizen or eligible qualified alien;

       New Hampshire resident; and

•     Meet the income requirements at PART 601, Table GPIL, Granite Advantage, EMA, CM, Pregnant Women MA, FPEC MA, and Expanded CM.

There is no requirement that a child live with a parent or specified relative.

 

The child must also meet the below listed requirements to be eligible:

Countable net income < 196% of the federal poverty level (FPL). See PART 601, Table GPIL, Granite Advantage, EMA, CM, Pregnant Women MA, FPEC MA, and Expanded CM.

Countable net income > 196% of the FPL, but no higher than 318% of the FPL. See PART 601, Table GPIL, Granite Advantage, EMA, CM, Pregnant Women MA, FPEC MA, and Expanded CM.

 CM-Med Needy in and out

Under age 19

Protected Income Level (PIL). See PART 601, Table GPIL, Granite Advantage, EMA, CM, Pregnant Women MA, FPEC MA, and Expanded CM.

Medically Needy resource limit. See Section 407.03,Medically Needy Medical Assistance.

 

Exception: Children under the age of 19 who are pregnant, should have their eligibility for medical assistance initially determined according to the requirements for Pregnant Women MA, as there are special benefits associated with this coverage group see PART 225 PREGNANT WOMEN MEDICAL ASSISTANCE.
