SUMMARY

 

This SR releases updated manual pages in Family Assistance Manual (FAM) Chapters 600 and 700 to include policy originally released in SR 96-52, Release of Revised Food Stamp Policy on Claim Determinations/Overissuances, Collections, and Administrative Disqualification Penalties for Intentional Program Violation as a Result of the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996...", dated September 17, 1996. Additional minor corrections, terminology updates and technical changes were made where appropriate on the affected pages. No new policy is released by this SR.

Incorporation of Policy Released by SR 96-52

 

SR 96-52 released policy on claim determinations/overissuances, collections, and administrative disqualification penalties for IPV. These changes were mandated by the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996 (PRWORA). Because the policy requirements have been in effect for 15 months and were explained in detail by SR 96-52, no review of the policy is provided here.

 

IMPLEMENTATION

 

All changes released by SR 96-52 were effective September 23, 1996.
