Consider all resources owned by all members of the assistance group. Assistance group composition differs based on the type of assistance requested. See Chapter200 , Program Criteria, to determine who is included in the assistance group.

Exception: If an institutionalized individual has a community spouse, consider the resources of both the institutionalized individual and the spouse, even though they do not reside together at initial eligibility determination only. See Part417 , Resource Assessment and Part419 , Protection of Resources.
