Available income is income which is actually received by an assistance group member on a regular and recurring basis. Income is considered regular and recurring when it can be reasonably expected the individual will have use of a specific amount each month.

Income which represents contribution or compensation for a period of more than 1 month or varies from month to month is averaged to obtain a monthly figure. The monthly average is then considered to be the available income the individual is expected to have for their use each month.
