To be considered employed, an individual must be receiving payment or in-kind compensation for work performed.

Families not receiving TANF financial assistance who are participating in a paid internship or work study must be considered employed for the work hours and have any income received counted as part of the family's monthly gross income. See Section 933.03, Required Income Verification.

An individual registered with a Temporary Employment Agency is considered employed as long as the individual earns one payment within 10 calendar days of an employment assignment.
