227.05 Family Planning MA Income Requirements (MAM)

SR 14-10 Dated 04/14

Previous Policy

_____________________________________________________________

When determining eligibility for Family Planning medical assistance (FPMA), only the income of the applicant is counted, but the income limit against which the net income is compared, is an assistance group size that includes the applicant, the applicant's family members, and is then increased by one.

Example: Mom is applying for FPMA for herself. She is married and has two children. Mom's assistance group size will be determined as follows:

Mom is included;

Mom's spouse and two children are included; and

The assistance group size is increased by one.

Mom's assistance group size is five.

Countable income must be < 196% of the federal poverty guidelines.

Deeming policies do not apply, which means that income is not deemed from spouse to spouse or parent to child.
